There are additional benefits to our participants of being part of Genoa Shipping Week as this brings together port, maritime and logistics operators from all over the world.”
“As the only established conference that provides a platform for open and honest dialogue to tackle the real issues that our industry faces, we are hugely grateful to every one of our supporters, our sponsors and our speakers who come together to make this happen.”
The core focus for Cool Logistics Conference 2023 draws from the commitments many nations and enterprises have made at Conference of the Parties (COP) Summits to cut Greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions from shipping. Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) research estimates that 31 per cent of all human-caused GHG emissions originate from the world’s agri-food system. Supply chains, shipping and transport making up a significant and growing part. In fact, according to the FAO, “the food supply chain in many countries is on course to overtake farming and land use as the largest contributor to greenhouse gases.” The FAO also estimates that around 14 percent of the world’s food, valued at $400 billion, is lost on an annual basis between harvest and retail. As part of the net zero, no waste dialogue, the 2023 event will take a fresh look at what can and is being done now, and soon, to move further and faster and tackle this at all links in the food and healthcare chains.
Cool Logistics 2023 will once again explore many aspects of cool innovation, technology, and investment at the digital, physical, process and people level. With IoT, AI, the cloud, digital platforms, digital twins, electronic documents, automation, clean energy, air and refrigeration, advances in cargo care, materials and equipment, the conscious consumer, e-commerce and the last mile, the scope and scale of change continues to accelerate. And how do stakeholders navigate this generational shift.
The event will also provide latest business intelligence, industry trend analysis and expert opinions on: global perishables trade flows, volumes, and market outlook how the cold chain logistics industry is developing around the world state-of-the-union on ocean, air and land freight including multimodal evolution of cool ports, cold stores, and inland corridors cargo owner insight into cold supply chain dynamics and expectations upstream and downstream changing consumer expectations and the e-commerce economy investor outlook and appetite.
