Green Marine Europe:

Green Marine Europe is a voluntary environmental certification program for the European maritime industry, launched in 2020. It is the result of joint efforts by the NGO Surfrider Foundation Europe and Green Marine, the leading environmental certification program for North America’s maritime industry. Its grid of 11 indicators target key environmental issues related to air, water and soil quality, and identified trough a collaborative approach (industry, governments, academia and environmental groups). In Europe, it includes more than 30 shipping companies and shipyards from six different countries, including key players such as CMA CGM, MSC Cruises, and Spain’s Balearia and Navantia. This program enables participants to enhance their environmental performance and be recognized as leaders in sustainability.
